Sarah Esau –
I bought this practice journal because I can get terrible bouts of procrastination between drawing projects and it’s really disabling. This is brilliant as I can draw little drawings to help keep my creative flow alive. I love that it’s British wildlife as that’s my current main drawing interest and there is a wide variety of animals in the journal.
It’s perfect for trying new paper or tools too. For example today I cut a small square from a new paper & drew the blackbird. It reminded me about the vast difference in style you can achieve depending on the paper you use. I’d become very dependent on one type of hot press so it’s a good reminder that trying new things is positive for our development!
I also love the fact that the journal is just so easy to use, and each mini drawing takes roughly an hour. It’s fantastic if you are feeling overwhelmed but still want to draw. I also think it’s perfect to take if you’re going away somewhere- just the journal & a few pencils & you’re good to go.
There’s a lot of pages for your money too so it’s very good value.
An excellent resource. I hope Sema makes a marine animal one because I’ll definitely buy that 😊
